An idea was suggested by Mike Irving N6BYH regarding the ATV repeater
proposed for Park Ridge in the near future.
As most of you know, Mike has an ATV repeater in the ATV portion of the
70 cm amateur band located on Blue Ridge. It currently receives on 434
(cable channel 59) and tramsmits on 426.25 (cable channel 57).
His proposal is to change his transmitter to 427.25 (cable channel 58) and place a 1.2 gHz receiver on the Park Ridge 1.2 gHz transmitter frequency.
Then we would place our 1.2 gHz transmitter at Park Ridge with a 434 mHz receiver. At this point, duplexers would NOT be necessary and allow the
Club time to acquire them for the 1.2 gHz receiver for Park Ridge. Mike
would provide the 434 receiver for Park Ridge and a 1.2 gHz receiver for
Blue Ridge.
One reason for this is to allow the 427.25 transmitter to transmit at 100
watts instead of the 10-15 watts it currently operates at due to the transmitter getting into the receiver at Blue Ridge.
This would also allow for members to view the ATV repeater on cable channel
58 with a cable-ready TV or VCR.
Here is a basic diagram:

I am anxious to get this project completed this year if at all possible.
If we come up short, ie: no duplexers, then we can still get on the air.
The 70 CM ATV is VSB (Vestigal Side Band) and our 1.2 gHz equipment is
FM. The video source will still be NTSC.
Let me know your thoughts on this and let's get to work.
