When I turned this XP pc Yesterday I looked at the Local Area
Connection and instead of seeing the usual DNS Server numbers it had
one entry of 192.168.1.1 instead of the usual two IP Address(s) that
it shows me.
Anyone have an idea why this XP pc BURPED yesterday and today?

You don't say. I went through that cycle just this morning. You see something didn't work... a script file on my Linux machine (AKA, a
batch file). I know it should have worked 'cause it had worked at a command prompt, a line at a time during testing.
I have been itching for the chance to use that script for two days, Ed.
My chance came this morning, with the arrival of your note in fact.
When it came time to use it to update my news server settings (and
other things) from a remote site with that script, the last line of the configuration change failed.
It seems that I had stealthily hidden a copy/paste error from the
testing command prompt! It had been sitting in a dark space in that script for two days, waiting for an opportunity to pounce! I was devastated.

I like to get my way. OTOH, I know where the kill switch is. :-D
At times I've panicked and reach back where the A.C. Connector is plugged in and Unplugged it, to get ITS attention.
Try that sometimes, it works for Me!
